Rotary Club of Akure Metro gives scholarship to 11 students during 5th Edition

The 5th Edition of Rotary Club of Akure Metro Scholarship Presentation

In line with the September Theme of Rotary International – Basic Education and Literacy Month, the Rotary Club of Akure Metro once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to shaping the future through education.

This year, 11 indigent students received scholarships worth ₦50,000 each. Notably, while ten beneficiaries were sponsored by PZC Dr. Kelvin Meyeyin, the eleventh award was made possible through the generosity of the President of RC Akure City, Rotarian Kolawole Dauda—further strengthening Rotary’s collaborative spirit. This life-changing support continues to bring hope and relief to families in need.

Over the years, PZC Dr. Kelvin Meyeyin has remained steadfast in his dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders through this scholarship scheme. Remarkably, last year’s edition—boosted by a Rotary District Grant—saw 80 learners empowered, a significant milestone in the Club’s literacy and education initiative.

Welcoming the beneficiaries and their guardians, the President of RC Akure Metro, Rotarian Bose Akinyanju, congratulated the students and urged them to stay focused, diligent, and determined in their academic journey so they may rise to greater heights in life.

In his goodwill address, PZC Dr. Kelvin Meyeyin, the donor, shared the inspiration behind his continuous sponsorship, underscoring his passion for lifting others through the power of education.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, two guardians expressed deep appreciation to the Rotary Club of Akure Metro for its benevolence. They prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon the donor and Rotarians who continue to serve humanity through such impactful gestures.

The ceremony reached its climax with the official presentation of cash scholarships to the beneficiaries by PZC Dr. Kelvin Meyeyin Bala.

It was truly a day of joy, gratitude, and renewed hope for the future.
