PRESS RELEASE / OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
ODSUBEB to Train Headteachers and Principals on Modern Approach to School Self-Evaluation
In a continuous effort to enhance effective teaching and learning outcomes, the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (ODSUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), is organizing a capacity-building workshop on the modern approach to school self-evaluation for selected Headteachers and Junior Secondary School Principals across the state.
This marks part of ODSUBEB’s ongoing commitment to strengthening quality assurance in schools through the School Self-Evaluation model, where school managers are empowered to assess their own performance internally, while external evaluators validate their findings to ensure accountability and improved learning outcomes.
The Quality Assurance Workshop on School Self-Evaluation is scheduled to hold from Monday, 27th to Thursday, 30th October, at the Domus Pacis Pastoral Institute, 7 Araromi Street, Igoba Estate, Akure.
This important training aims to equip participants with modern best practices in school administration and evaluation, enabling them to effectively apply self-assessment tools that promote transparency, efficiency, and educational excellence.
This initiative also aligns with the “OUR EASE” agenda of the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, which emphasizes Education, Advancement, and Sustainable Excellence.
According to the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan, this initiative will “help our Basic Education system to improve tremendously in the areas of assessment and accountability.” He concluded the briefing by urging all selected participants to fully participate and take maximum advantage of this opportunity to improve their professional competence and contribute to better school performance across the state.
