Proposal on drugs abuse sensitisation

*PROPOSAL FOR YOUTH DRUG ABUSE SENSITISATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMME

* Background / Rationale
Recent observations and credible reports during a supervisory visit to the Club House Project in Small London / Super Land reveal an alarming rise in drug abuse among youths in our communities. This development poses a serious threat to the future of our young people and, by extension, the sustainable development of our society.
There is an urgent need to act decisively before we lose these promising future leaders to substance abuse and its attendant social consequences.

 *Aim and Objectives* 
The proposed programme aims to:
Enlighten youths on the dangers and long-term consequences of drug abuse.
Promote positive values, discipline, and healthy lifestyle choices among young people.
Engage relevant security and regulatory agencies to provide authoritative guidance and real-life insights.
Strengthen community-based prevention through sustained sensitisation at grassroots level.
Scope of the Programme
The programme will be implemented in two major phases:
Phase I: School-Based Sensitisation
Sensitisation programmes in the two secondary schools within the communities.
Interactive sessions involving students, teachers, and guidance counsellors.
Engagement of professionals from NDLEA, the Nigeria Police Force, and other relevant stakeholders.
Phase II: Community-Based Sensitisation
Outreach to youths at community quarters meetings, usually held on the last Saturday of every month.
Use of local forums to reach out-of-school youths and vulnerable groups.
Distribution of educational materials and advocacy messages.
